Concept study · Not for sale

A small idea.
A different
food future.

FORMIX explores an ant-based alternative-protein brand: a visual identity, packaging direction and possible product formats, developed by Clayton Camera.

A design exploration. There is no finished food product, commercial launch or ordering service behind this page.

The creative brief

Give an unfamiliar idea
a clear identity.

The starting question is a design question: how could an alternative-protein idea feel approachable, distinctive and coherent across a brand? These are the directions explored so far.

01 / IDENTITY

Make it recognizable.

A compact wordmark, charcoal surfaces and bright green accents create a consistent visual language across the concept.

02 / PACKAGING

Build a visual system.

Canister, bar and snack formats are possible directions for the same identity. The packaging shown here is illustrative design work.

03 / EXPERIENCE

Explain the idea.

A focused web experience introduces the concept and its next questions. This page documents the exploration at its present stage.

Design intent: confident typography, a restrained palette and a flexible identity. Product composition, serving sizes, pricing and availability have not been established.
What comes next

The questions before
a real product.

A visual concept is the beginning. These questions would need evidence and qualified review before deciding whether to develop or sell a food product.

What would the ingredient actually be?

Define the species, source, processing method and proposed formulation before making statements about its nutritional properties.

Could it be made consistently?

Evaluate sourcing, manufacturing, ingredient safety, allergen considerations and the requirements for a real product label.

Would people want it?

Explore taste, texture, use cases and willingness to buy through actual product development and customer research.

What claims could the evidence support?

Any nutrition, performance or environmental claim would need evidence specific to the finished product and its supply chain.
